Open Morning, Historic Film, Poster Sale and Tours
Join the celebration of England’s fantastic architecture & culture and discover what makes the Picture House so special at our Heritage Open Morning.
The restored footage of the 1925 Hebden Bridge Carnival Parade will be shown on the cinema screen at 10am. The shorter film of the 1924 Hebden Bridge Gala will also be shown at 11.15am and again at 12.30pm. No booking is required for these screenings so please take a seat at your leisure and enjoy!
Exclusive bookable behind-the-scenes tours of the Picture House will be available at 10.30am & 11.30am in which you will visit the balcony, backstage and the projection box. You will also be given a brief history of the cinema.
Tours start in the foyer at 10.30am and 11.30am prompt and last approximately 45mins each. If you are interested in booking a place on either of these tours, then please email email@example.com with all party members’ names (and ages of under 18’s) including an email address, a mobile phone number and the tour you wish to join.
Regretfully, the behind the scenes tour is NOT wheelchair accessible due to the locations on the tour requiring stair climbing.
The kiosk will be open serving homemade cakes and hot drinks and there will also be a history of the cinema display in the foyer to view during the event. The Friends of the Picture House will also be hosting a film poster sale (bring cash!), where you can also purchase the history book ‘Hebden Bridge Picture House: The Life and Times of a Local Treasure’. We look forward to welcoming you!
All times listed are the programme start time unless otherwise stated. Films start approx 30 mins after the programme start time.
