Golden Globe winner for Best Picture (Musical/Comedy) and Best Supporting Actor for Mahershala Ali, Green Book is based on the uplifting true story of an unlikely friendship and explores racial division in ’60s America. 1962: Italian-American bouncer Tony (Viggo Mortensen) is hired to chauffeur African-American pianist Don (Ali) around the Deep South. Aware of the racism he will encounter, Don needs a protector and though Tony has his own problematic views, he offers the required muscle. So it is that they embark on a road trip with the potential to change both of their lives, confronting the ugliness of prejudice in an era of segregation.
