Trafalgar Releasing present McKellan: Playing the Part, a feature length film celebrating the life and work of Sir Ian McKellen. Fully authorised, including access to a wealth of never-before-seen archive material, the film is built around an extensive, personal interview covering everything from his upbringing in Wigan to becoming a star of stage and screen, coming out and becoming a leader in the gay rights movement.

This live event on May 27th invites audiences to join us in celebrating Sir Ian McKellen’s birthday live from the BFI Southbank. Hosted by Graham Norton and featuring some very special guests. McKellen: Playing the Part Live promises to be a fitting celebration of one of the world’s most beloved actors.

Doors open at 2pm, and the screening commences at 3pm. Seating is unallocated. We have space for up to 10 wheelchairs, and an accessible toilet. To reserve a wheelchair space and adjacent seat(s) please email info@hebdenbridgepicturehouse.co.uk.

There is a kiosk with a bar in the foyer which is open prior to the screening and during any interval.

There is no parking at the Picture House, but town has several car parks and on street parking near to the cinema. We are a cash only venue, and do not accept cards.
