New from Warwick Thornton – director of the critically adored, Cannes Camera d’Or winning Samson & Delilah – is this starkly beautiful period fugitive drama set in Australia’s Northern Territory. Inspired by real events and featuring a cast of largely non-professional Aboriginal actors, it stars Hamilton Morris as Sam Kelly, an Aboriginal stockman working on the land of preacher Fred Smith (Sam Neill). But the tentative peace of the outback is broken when Sam is forced to take part in a violent crime and must flee with his wife (Natassia Gorey-Furber) to outwit a violent posse intent on their capture.
