Join Happy Valley Pride and Hebden Bridge Picture House to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of The Adventures of Priscilla Queen of the Desert. More event details coming soon!

Stephan Elliot’s brash, liberating road movie follows two drag queens and a transgender woman (played by Hugo Weaving, Guy Pearce and Terence Stamp) as they journey across the desert from Sydney to Alice Springs, in a tour bus named Priscilla, to put on a show. Along the way, they encounter various people – including a group of Aboriginals, and less accepting rural Australians who subject them to homophobic abuse – share long-buried secrets, and experience the beauty of the remote Australian outback. Boisterous and bawdy, it’s also a very tender and generously entertaining film that heralded a new age in Australian cinema.
