Michael Haneke (The White Ribbon, Hidden) won the Palme d’Or at this year’s Cannes Film Festival with his harrowing but beautiful examination of love and loyalty. Georges and Anne are retired music teachers in their eighties, living in a large city apartment. When Anne fist begins to show signs of dementia, and her condition soon worsens, the couple face the greatest test of their lifelong love.
‘Uncomfortable, uncompromising, unflinching… and utterly unmissable…you must see this film’ – David Hughes, Empire *****
