Dir: Carlos Maques-Marcet | Spain | 2017 | 110 mins
Cast: Oona Chaplin, Geraldine Chaplin, Natalia Tena, David Verdaguer
Eva (Oona Chaplin) and Kat’s (Natalia Tena) carefree existence on a London houseboat is challenged when Eva issues an ultimatum: she wants a child. Kat resists, but when her friend Roger (David Verdaguer) visits from Barcelona, the three independent spirits explore the idea of creating a family. Carlos Marques-Marcet’s (10,000 Km) wonderfully emotive romantic comedy boasts terrific naturalistic performances and an intimate portrait of the possibilities of unconventional families, set against London’s evocative, rarely-filmed canals.
“Utterly spontaneous, free-floating […] a thoughtful, honest and touching work” The Guardian
