Dir: Drew Goddard | USA | 2018 | 141 mins
Cast: Chris Hemsworth, Jon Hamm, Dakota Johnson, Jeff Bridges, Cynthia Erivo

Jeff Bridges, Dakota Johnson, Jon Hamm, Chris Hemsworth and Cynthia Erivo are along the secretive clientele checking into the equally mysterious El Royale hotel in Drew Goddard’s (co-writer of The Cabin in the Woods) twisty, kitsch hard-boiled noir. A run-down hotel that sits on the border between California and Nevada, it soon becomes a seedy battleground when seven strangers – two sisters, a cleric, a soul singer, a salesman, the manager and the mysterious Billy Lee – converge on a fateful night for one last shot at redemption. With charismatic performances and stylishly designed, it’s a vividly entertaining watch.
