This intense, strikingly dark drama sets its scene in amid the foot-and-mouth crisis that devastated the UK’s farming community in 2001. Life changes abruptly for farmer’s son Adam, whose status switches from inheritor of the family farm to lonely itinerant; wandering the countryside and picking up casual work where he can. When his brother contacts him with some family news, he is served an ultimatum – come home now, or not at all – and must decide if he is ready to end his nomadic lifestyle and reconnect with the life he left behind. Haunting, unusual and memorable.

“An evocative story of everyday life and psychological nuance” *** Leslie Felperin, Guardian
