Dir: Tim Miller | USA | 2016 | 108 mins
Cast: Ryan Reynolds, Morena Baccarin, Gina Carano, T. J. Miller, Ed Skrein

Ryan Reynolds is brilliant in the goofy, violent, likeable and very self-aware Deadpool, the origin story of Marvel’s snarkiest creation. Wade Wilson (Reynolds) is a former Special Forces operative turned mercenary whose world is forever changed when evil scientist Ajax (Ed Skrein) transforms him into Deadpool, a being with accelerated healing powers and a twisted sense of humour. With help from mutant allies Colossus and Negasonic Teenage Warhead, he must use his new skills to hunt down the man who nearly destroyed his life. Vivid, weird, and very funny.

“Ryan Reynolds’ pansexual superhero is needy, neurotic and very entertaining” **** Peter Bradshaw, Guardian
