Based on Raymond Briggs’ awardwinning graphic novel Ethel & Ernest, this animated feature is a funny and touching tribute to his parents and working-class London life. It follows Ethel (Brenda Blethyn) and Ernest (Jim Broadbent) as they fall in love and live through the immense social and political changes of the mid 20th century; including World War II, post-war austerity, the cultural upheaval of the ‘60s and beyond.
