Join us for the first official public screening of High Water Common Ground – a film about flooding and what we can do now.
Inspired by the tremendous outpouring of community spirit and energy during and after the Boxing Day floods of 2015, High Water Common Ground seeks to help answer the question, “What can we do to reduce the risk of flooding, on a large scale?”
Following the stories of communities from all over the UK as they explore innovative new strategies in Natural Flood Risk Management, and produced in collaboration with numerous community action groups, environmental practitioners, researchers and national authorities, High Water Common Ground offers an anecdotal tool kit for communities throughout the UK, and some novel insights into how we take care of ourselves, our land, and our water.
At this premiere screening, we will explore what we can do now to manage flood risk in new ways. We will proudly toast all of the great work that has already been done around the UK, and particularly that which has been done here in the Calder Valley.
All times listed are the programme start time unless otherwise stated. Films start approx 30 mins after the programme start time.
