Rob Reiner’s nostalgic 1986 drama remains a coming-of-age classic. Based on Stephen King’s novella The Body, it recounts the story of four characterful Oregon boys who – on learning that a stranger has been accidentally killed near their rural homes – go in search of the body. On the way, Gordie (Wil Wheaton), Vern (Jerry O’Connell), Chris (River Phoenix) and Teddy (Corey Feldman) traverse rail road tracks, leech-infested ponds and wheat fields as they learn more about one another and their very different worlds, in an adventure that gradually evolves into a defining event in their lives.
