Dir: Rebcca Zlotowski | 2013 | France / Austria | 95 mins | French w/Eng ST
Starring: Tahar Rahim, Léa Seydoux, Olivier Gourmet
Internationally acclaimed stars Tahar Rahim (A Prophet) and Léa Seydoux (Blue is the Warmest Colour) play illicit lovers in this engrossing drama, director Rebecca Klotowski’s follow-up to her acclaimed 2010 debut Belle epine. Rahim is Gary, a new arrival at a Rhone valley power plant who’s inducted into the workforce by veteran Toni, and find himself immediately – and dangerously – attracted to Toni’s beautiful fiancé Karole (Seydoux). Klotwoski brilliantly conjures up the claustrophobic world of the plant, drawing parallels between the perils of radiation and the equally combustive atmosphere between its young employees
