Dir. Joel & Ethan Coen, USA, 2013, 105 mins
Oscar Isaac, Carey Mulligan, Justin Timberlake, John Goodman

Inside Llewyn Davis follows a week in the life of a young folk singer (a brilliant Oscar Isaac), as he navigates the Greenwich Village folk scene of 1961. Guitar in tow, huddled against the unforgiving New York winter, he is struggling to make it as a musician against seemingly insurmountable obstacles…some of them of his own making. Note-perfect performances, gorgeous cinematography, great music and an irresistible script are what we’ve come to expect from the Coen brothers’ (Fargo, No Country for Old Men), and Inside Llewyn Davis delivers spectacularly on all fronts.

‘What an intense pleasure this film is, one of the Coens’ best’ – Peter Bradshaw, The Guardian *****
