Cast | John Lithgow, Alfred Molina, Marisa Tomei, Charlie Tahan

John Lithgow and Alfred Molina are wonderful in Ira Sachs’ (Keep the Lights On) graceful, delightful Love is Strange as a gay couple who, after nearly 4 decades together, finally tie the knot in New York, which leads to George (Molina) losing his Catholic school teaching job. Subsequently they must sell their home and live apart, with friends and relatives until they can find an affordable new place. While struggling with the pain of separation, Ben and George also have to deal with the intergenerational tensions and erratic family dynamics of their new digs. Moving and comic in equal measure.

“A moving and brilliantly acted story about love, friendship and the pains of New York real estate” **** Emma Brockes, The Guardian
