The screening on Thurs 5th July is the Live Arts Everybody’s Talking About Jamie

Dir: Ian Bonhôte | UK | 2018 | 111 mins

An inspiring documentary exploring the life of Alexander ‘Lee’ McQueen, perhaps the most clearly gifted fashion designer of recent years. Covering his meteoric career from its beginnings at Central Saint Martins to his 1997 appointment to Givenchy and beyond, it explores his radical aesthetic sense and instinct for theatrics (including the famous spring/summer 1999 show when supermodel Shalom Harlow stepped onto the catwalk to be sprayed with paint) whilst also touching on the personal difficulties that led to his untimely death in 2010. Mirroring the boldness and vivacity of his designs, it’s an intimate study of McQueen’s world and a celebration of his superlative talent.

The screening on Tuesday 3rd July will be shown with subtitles projected onto the screen for the hearing impaired, and these are signified by the symbol S/T on the website and in our monthly brochure. Please note all other screenings of these films are without subtitles.

A/D For the visually impaired, we offer audio description via a headset, on this film. Please ask at the Box Office to borrow a headset.
