Dir. Jonathan Holiff, Canada, 2013, 87mins
The little known story of the turbulent relationship between Johnny Cash and his manager Saul Holiff. Jonathan Holiff rarely saw his father Saul when he was growing up, Saul was too busy looking after the talented and troubled manager of legend Johnny Cash, pairing him with June Carter and seeing him through the pill-popping ‘60s right through to his religious conversion. After his father’s death, Jonathan reluctantly went to a storage lockup and found a treasure trove of recordings, letters and memorabilia that took him on a journey of rediscovering his father and the career of Johnny Cash. A thrilling documentary with some extraordinary raw moments from the Cash archives.
