Cast: Kelly Macdonald, Irrfan Khan, David Denman, Liv Hewson
Kelly Macdonald stars with Irrfan Khan in Marc Turtletaub’s humane, tender-hearted drama. She plays Agnes, a meek suburban housewife to mechanic Louie (David Denman) and their sons. Bored by her indistinguishable days, she develops an unlikely passion for puzzles and through it, meets New Yorker Robert (Khan), who steers her to compete. Attempting to square the freedom afforded by her new pastime with the responsibilities of home, Agnes must reconsider everything she previously took for granted. Touching, quietly complex and really well-crafted, Puzzles is a real gem anchored by an excellent central performance by Macdonald.
