In the age of the Trump presidency, Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has become something of a pop cultural and feminist icon; with Democrats desperately hoping the diminutive (but clearly very tough) 84-year-old will stave off retirement and ill health to stay on the increasingly conservative bench, and wider general recognition of the scale of her legacy. Betsy West and Julie Cohen’s tremendously inspiring film depicts the birth of an unlikely rock star, taking in her rise to the Court, legions of admirers, even her workouts – alongside how her legal battles have changed the lives of Americans for generations to come.
