Cast: Katharine Hepburn, Cary Grant, James Stewart
Cary Grant, James Stewart and a radiant Katharine Hepburn star in George Cukor’s glittering comedy about a society wedding threatened by scandal. Adapted from Philip Barry’s stage play, it follows Tracy Lord (Hepburn) who having divorced her irresponsible millionaire husband (Grant) is about to wed a dull but dependable fellow. However, any hopes of privacy at the wedding of the year are dashed by the arrival of not only her reluctant ex but a pair of journalists (Stewart and Hussey) hunting for gossip. A script sparkling with wit and sharp social commentary, and an atmosphere of woozy romance, permeate this wonderful classic.
