This outstanding directorial debut is set in 2001 Nepal, wherein a temporary ceasefire gives a much-needed break to a small village otherwise ravaged by conflict. Two boys – best friends despite the divisions of caste and social creed – set out to recover their pet hen; unaware they may soon be caught between rival forces. A wistful, touching debut from an exciting new voice in world cinema.
