Based on Jonas Jonasson’s bestselling novel, this delightful comedy follows 100-year-old Allan Karlsson (Robert Gustafsson), who escapes from his care home and discovers a suitcase full of money. Chased by crooks and the police he goes on some epic travels and makes unlikely new friends. In flashbacks, the film also explores Allan’s globe-spanning career that introduced him to some of the world’s most intriguing personalities – including Franco, Stalin and Oppenheimer among others. Imbued with a pleasing dry humour, this spectacular film is the story of one man’s life amid a century of change.
