Cast: Ellie Kendrick, David Troughton, Jack Holden

British director Hope Dickson Leach’s startlingly accomplished debut feature explores a farming family’s life against the backdrop of the devastating 2014 Somerset floods. Clover (a riveting performance by Ellie Kendrick) is finishing a veterinary course when she’s called back home after a sudden tragedy. There she’s met by her brooding father Aubrey (David Troughton) while the farm lies in disrepair; and it’s not long before their emotional and financial pressures become impossible to ignore. Finely crafted and brilliantly performed, this slow-burning film portrays the vicissitudes of farming life with depth and realism.
