Cast: Mark Addy, Sheridan Smith, Ella Hunt, Sally Phillips, Sheila Hancock, Jo Brand

Scripted by (and starring) Jo Brand from her novel of the same name, The More You Ignore Me is a funny, evocative story of dysfunctional family life in 1980s rural England. Sheridan Smith is Gina, whose efforts to be a loving mother and wife are undermined by her declining mental health; and her daughter Alice (Ella Hunt) struggles to relate to her. Using the insights gained during Brand’s years as a psychiatric health worker, it’s a poignant and darkly comic drama set to the music of The Smiths and also featuring Mark Addy, Sally Phillips, Sheila Hancock and Ricky Tomlinson.
