Based on the best-selling novel by Stephen Chbosky, The Perks of Being a Wallflower is a coming-of-age story that captures the dizzying highs and crushing lows of growing up. Set in early ‘90s suburban Pittsburgh, Charlie (Lerman) is having trouble fitting in at high school, where his English teacher (Rudd) is the best friend he has. But when gay misfit Patrick and his rebellious step-sister Sam (Watson) take Charlie under their wing, his school-life rapidly improves as they experience the light and dark sides of teenage life together.
