From Amélie director Jean-Pierre Jeunet, a superbly realised adaptation of the bestselling Reif Larsen novel The Young and Prodigious T. S. Spivet. Young T. S. (Kyle Catlett) lives in Montana with his beetle-obsessive mother, wannabe cowboy father and 14-year-old sister. A prodigy, T. S. has a passion for scientific inventions and one day gets a call from the Smithsonian to say he’s won a prestigious prize – and without telling anybody, sets out on an intrepid journey across the US to claim it. Also starring Helena Bonham Carter, Jeunet’s trademark spark is much in evidence in this immensely enjoyable film.
