Dir: James Marsh | UK | 2014 | 123 mins
 | Cast | Eddie Redmayne, Felicity Jones, Tom Prior

Eddie Redmayne (My Week with Marilyn) is a revelation as young Stephen Hawking in director James Marsh’s (Man on Wire) moving, inspiring biopic of the iconic astrophysicist, based on a memoir by his former wife Jane, excellently played here by Felicity Jones (Away From Her). Meeting at Cambridge, they fall deeply in love; afterwards, Stephen embarks on incredibly ambitious scientific work, studying the very thing he now has precious little of – time – following a devastating diagnosis. This is a brilliantly performed film, depicting an incredible mind, and exploring the power of sheer determination.
